Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of King Dental & Associates Limited in Carnforth, Lancashire.

In 1997, Anne King set up a single-surgery dental practice working from Carnforth Clinic. She then bought a practice on Market Street in 2004 and incorporated the two in 2007 to create what is now King Dental & Associates Limited—a five-surgery NHS dental practice that enjoys a prominent position within the Lancashire town of Carnforth, in an area of mixed commercial and residential uses.
After 40 years in dentistry and 28 years of investment and growth in their practice—including the introduction of special needs NHS contracts, a fully accessible waiting room and patient toilets, and a standalone accessible surgery and sterilising suite—Anne and her husband, Derek, decided to sell to allow them to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Olivia McMaster at Christie & Co, King Dental has been purchased by first-time buyers, brothers-in-law Dr. Adam Kantharia and Dr. Ibrahim Matadar. With a wealth of experience behind them in both general and advanced dentistry, the pair are passionate, driven dentists committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
Anne King, former owner of King Dental & Associates Limited, comments, “When we first met Adam and Ibrahim, we recognised that they appreciated the character of the operation and the ethos of the practice we had inculcated, which we saw as ‘a holistic approach to oral healthcare.’ We know they have great plans for additional specialisms in the practice, and recent expansion of new housing in the area means opportunities for growth are available.”
Dr. Adam Kantharia, the new co-owner of King Dental & Associates Limited, comments, “Our vision is to build a modern, progressive dental practice that becomes a trusted name in the community—a place where patients not only receive excellent clinical care but genuinely enjoy coming in. We’re planning to expand our range of services, particularly in cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, and dental implants. With Ibrahim’s advanced training in implantology and our shared experience with Invisalign, we’re able to offer more comprehensive, in-house treatment options without patients needing to be referred elsewhere. We’re also passionate about bringing the latest technology into the practice—including digital scanners and treatment planning tools—to make dentistry more comfortable, efficient, and precise for our patients.
“Beyond the clinical side, we want to create an environment that feels welcoming, supportive, and patient-led. We’re investing in the team, upgrading the patient journey, and working on community outreach so that the practice becomes more than just a dental clinic—it becomes a positive part of people’s lives. Carnforth is a town with a strong sense of community and a rich local heritage, famously known for its railway history and as the filming location of Brief Encounter. We’re proud to be a part of that story now and want our practice to reflect the warmth, pride, and resilience of the area. Long term, we aim to grow the practice organically by building strong relationships, maintaining high standards, and always putting patients at the heart of everything we do.”
Olivia McMaster, Senior Business Agent – Dental at Christie & Co, comments, “It’s fantastic to see the sale of King Dental come together so successfully, which has enabled Anne and Derek to retire. A lot of the sales that we deal with are because of the owner retiring after an excellent career in the sector, and this is no exception. We saw a huge interest in this practice, especially from first-time buyers who are ready to start their ownership journey.
“This is also a great example of our ability to find the perfect buyer for a practice—even in a more rural location—proving that the right match is always possible with the right approach.”
King Dental & Associates Limited was sold for an undisclosed price.
